ANNAVARU - CELEBRITIES OPINION

Namma Annavaru today completed 80 years! Though Dr.Rajkumar
is not with us physically, he is always in the minds of Crores
of Kannadigas around the World.

Mayachandra, a corporate film maker based in Bangalore, has done a
documentary about Kannada matinee idol Dr.Rajkumar named Dr.Rajkumar -
An Analysis of The Phenomenon. Mayachandra, a Masters degree holder in
Communication from Emerson College, Boston, and her team took over 2
years to make the film with extensive research and collation of
exclusive footage and memorabilia about Rajkumar. This film has been
screened in Chicago, Bangalore and Thiruvananthapuram film festivals.
DVD release function of the short film was jointly organized by May
Flower media house and Information Department, Government of Karnataka
at Badami house, Bangalore, last Sunday, (20.04.2009). Documentary was
also screened after the DVD release.

KAARANJI

KAARANJI is the newest movie which has created hype among
the music lovers. Vijay Raghavendra, the hero of this movie
is longly awaiting to get a major break, has done a role
of a Singer of a Kannada Music Band, which is very much new
in Kannada film industry. Hence this has created hype among
all the music lovers of Kannada.

Veera Samarth who has earlier scored music for Sri Murali
(Brother of Vijay Raghavendra) movie "Shivamani" is scoring
music for this music, which is already top in Music charts.
Veera Samarth a boy from Bidar who has worked with ace composers
and singers Ravindra Jain, Suresh Wadkar, Ismail Durbar,
Shuba Mudgal was playing the Tamboora instrument in Pandit
Bhimsen Joshi recitals. He has given music for seven songs
and some bits in this movie which is really a new type of music
renderation.

Debutant director Sridhar is trying for the first time.
Gauri Karnik, the famous Bollywood Star (Remember "Sur"
with Lucky Ali) is the heroin of the movie. This is a musical
film in which Vijaya Raghavendra plays the head of a music band.
He is a guitar player and heroine Gauri Karnik is a dominant
singer in the film. In the love story interspersed 'Karanji'
the different musical tradition of Karnataka is focused with
poems from Santa Shishunala Sharief, Purandara Dasa, T.P.Kailasam
Kolike Ranga song, folk songs etc says Sridhar highlighting on the
contents of his maiden film. Sridhar has worked as script associate
television and ad films director in the past. N.M.Suresh
is producing this venture.
