RAJU ANANTHASWAMY, the renowned Kannada Sugama sangeetha
singer and famous Comedian of Kannada films has left us.
His songs are very famous among all Kannada music lovers,
especially the 'Ratnana Padagalu', where he gave life to
famous Poet G.P.Rajaratnam's poems.
Raju was the son of Great Kannada Sugama Sangeetha Singer
and Music Composer Mysore Ananthaswamy, whose songs are
even popular today, especially 'Ede Tumbhi Haadidenu'.
Raju also done some Kannada movies as a Comedian,
Chiguridha Kanasu is one among them.
It is sad that we lost Raju at the age of 41. If he had
controlled his habit of Drinking, then he would have been
survived and more and more invaluable Kannada songs would
had been sung by him. All is left in the hands of destiny.
Lets pray the Almigty to rest his soul in peace.

It is very sad to know that one of the great singers of Kannada, Raju Ananthaswamy has left us. Kannada producers must be ashamed of themselves for not giving proper chances to sing in their films though he had a great talent. YAAVA MOHANA MURALI from AMERICA AMERICA, NAANU HOTHAARE EDHU from RISHI are just a glimpses of Raju Ananthaswamy. May his soul rest in peace.
I had the good fortune of accompanying Raju Anantswamy when he performed at New York Kannada Koota couple of years ago... Besides a superb singer, I found him a very sweet and fine human being...
Kannada music will miss him.. We all miss him...

I have met him couple of times. He was very nice guy and very talented. As a teenager he could conduct music shows with ease. I followed his success for two decades and still in shock to know he is no more with us unfortunately.
